Trick-or-Treat, Smell My Feet...

I love Halloween! Not because of the scary decorations or anything, but because of the excitement it brings! Think about it... Halloween marks the start of cooler weather, there are aisles upon aisles of candy corn in the stores, you get to decorate your house with fun decorations, kiddos get to dream about what costumes they will wear, and the Holiday Season is right around the corner!! These are a few of the things I love about Halloween!

Grace & Luke were excited about Halloween the minute I pulled out the decorations, Halloween themed books, & their various Halloween buckets & bags! Luke immediately declared that he wanted to be "Buzz Lightyear to the rescue"! Grace couldn't decide between Jesse or a witch. She finally decided on Jesse since Luke was going to be Buzz. They counted down the days & would practice trick-or-treating in the living room under Grace's close supervision!

Two years ago Grace was a huge Wizard of Oz fan & so she knew she was going to be Dorothy for Halloween. She wanted all of us to dress as some character from the movie, so we decided Luke would be the lion, Darren would be the tin man & I would play the role of the scarecrow. We had SO much fun that year! So, each year Darren & I try to come up with something we can all dress up as together. We weren't able to pull it off last year...Grace was intent on being Tinker Belle & Luke was Superman (only he refused to wear his costume). This year Darren mentioned something about Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head & that was all I needed! I searched various websites & figured out how to come up with our own version of homemade Potato Head costumes. They came out pretty good (if I do say so myself), but still the year we were the Wizard of Oz characters ranks as the best!

We got the kids all ready & headed to the mall where Darren's station is & we did a little trick-or-treating there. Since our neighborhood only has a dozen or so houses it didn't really provide for good trick-or-treating. After that we headed to our church's Trunk-or-Treat. The kids played every game 2 or 3 times. We lost count of how many times we visited the bounce houses! Our friends Katie & Brian dressed up as "Barbie & Ken" so that was a cool surprise! There were lot's of fun costumes that night! We had a fun time & the kids got more candy than they know what to do with!!

Here are some pictures of our fun...
