God KNOWS!!

I love quotes. Quotes of any kind... thought provoking, funny, serious, encouraging, silly... I just love quotes. I have a book, well more like a journal really, that I write down quotes as I hear or read them. I keep it close by as a reminder to me of the things that I have come across...many times they serve as the perfect encouragement at just the right moment.

There are several people who seem to be struggling with various things in life right now. Either people I follow on Twitter or friends of friends on facebook. Life is very challenging, but also very rewarding. When I see, read about or hear about people struggling I think back to these few quotes that I have written down in my journal.

"No leaf falls without God's knowledge. No wave crashes on the shore without His calculation. He has never been surprised." ~Max Lucado

I LOVE that! God is not surprised by the things that happen in this life. He knows & sees it all!

Here's another one...

"God is God. He knows what He is doing. When you can't trace His hand, trust His heart." ~Max Lucado

Yet another incredible thought. We will not understand most things this side of heaven, and truth be told, we might not understand them on the other side either. Some things happen just because. God does not need us to understand things. He does. We should take comfort in that & comfort in the fact that He IS God. (Easier said than done for me!)

How about this one...

"No struggle will come your way apart from God's purpose, presence & permission." ~Max Lucado

Can you tell I am a Max Lucado fan?! This one is hard to comprehend for me. I understand it when it pertains to the "good" things that happen in my life. But what about the struggles that I have? What about the hurt that I see others experiencing? Again, a hard thing to grasp with my human mind!

This might be one of my favorite...although I need some work in actually living & walking in such truth!

"When God made the world He intended on today happening." ~Shelley Giglio

It gives me the chills! God already knew what was going to happen today...years ago!! Wow!!

All of these quotes have one thing in common... the fact that God KNOWS what is going on in our worlds! He is not caught off guard; He is not surprised; He is not sitting there wondering what on earth happened! He KNOWS!!!!

Now, if I can just take hold of that fact & allow it to comfort me in times of trouble...

  1. Thanks for those reminders, Lori. Great quotes, and great idea to keep them in a journal!
