Trick or Treat!!!

Halloween for us was a bit different this year. Tinker Belle (aka Grace) woke up from a nap on Thursday afternoon running 101.8 fever. She was definitely puny & not herself...the fact that she took a nap was clue #1! She had fever the rest of the afternoon & evening and woke up with a low grade fever the next morning. She was quite upset that she was missing her class party. Darren took some treat bags we put together earlier in the week up to the school & got her goodies from the party & that helped make her happy. We spent Friday morning at the doctor's office...it was only an upper respiratory infection so we got some medicine & came back home. I made a blanket tent & we watched Monsters vs. Aliens! We also had a family slumber party that night...Luke was on the floor on one side of our bed & Grace was on the other! They loved it!! Superman (aka Luke) woke up early Saturday morning complaining of his ear hurting & running 102 fever. So, sickness struck again!! Our trick-or-treating plans quickly changed. We opened our Halloween goodies, (Grace got Snow White on DVD & Luke got an Elmo Music Player & Storybook) hung out at the house & were lazy. We promised Grace that if her fever dropped that we would go trick-or-treating on the few streets near ours. One of our friends also had kids recovering from fever so we decided to hit the streets together. Once it came time to go she was fever free & much better. She was excited to get her costume on & get some candy! Luke on the other hand wasn't as excited! He refused to put his costume on & was much more content in his pumpkin shirt! Off we went to a few houses around ours...there weren't many people out nor were their many people handing out candy. Grace was still having a blast & Luke was in the wagon along for the ride. By about the 3rd or 4th house Luke realized that Grace was getting candy & he decided he wanted in on the action! He ran up to his first house of the night & I heard him say, "Trick or treat...I want some candy!!" He was into it from that moment on. Afterwards we headed back to our house to let them hand out candy for a while. They both enjoyed seeing the other kids dressed up.
