Grace is 6!!

Wow, where does the time go? Grace turned 6 at the beginning of August. We celebrated with a guy who lives in a pineapple under the sea...absorbent, yellow & porous is he...you guessed it, SpongeBob Squarepants! Now, is this the theme I dreamed about my 6 year old little girl having? Nope! However, when we first moved to Beaumont we would do our grocery shopping at HEB Plus & they have the coolest SpongeBob cake ever (yes, they had a TinkerBelle one as well, but that one didn't strike her fancy!). It came with SpongeBob himself, his pals Patrick & Squidward as well as that silly old pineapple that SpongeBob calls home. It was love at first sight! Once Grace first saw it she was intent on having a SpongeBob party. While there are some Momma's who forbid their kiddos from watching such nonsense, I actually find it the lesser of several evils (also known as iCarly, Hannah Montana, Victorious, etc). But, that's neither here nor there...let's move on to the party...

Grace had a fabulous day! It was her first party (to actually remember) in which she had both sets of grandparents in attendance, as well as her first party to have her cousins come & play! They spent the morning swimming (we were still livin' it up in the apartment), then we had cake & ice cream & then she tore into presents! Following in true birthday celebration fashion we spent the lunch hour with ol' Chuck E. Cheese! She ended her birthday with a scrumptious meal (insert sarcasm here) at Taco Bell. (Our kiddos get to choose all 3 meals on their special day...a small tradition we do.) All in all, it was a special day!!

Cousins!!

The ever popular Mama Mia CD!

Can't you see the attraction from this cake?! :)

This poor yellow sponge never knew what hit him!

Thank you Luke for SpongeBob!

I would say she was excited, wouldn't you?!

Barbie Glam Vacation House!

The Birthday Girl!

A birthday pose is always in order!
(Or in Grace's case a pose on any ol' day is always in order!)

Pic with Daddy!

Love these kiddos!

A rare snapshot!
(Notice Grace's tight grip on Luke's arm!)
