Having grown up going to Schlitterbahn, we both were excited for the kids to experience it. I was a bit nervous though, I'll have to admit. Schlitterbahn is huge & crowded, however, we found that Memorial Day weekend was the perfect time to go with our aged kids! They only had part of the park open & it was not at all crowded! Yay!!
We spent most of our time at Surfenburg. The kids played on the giant octopus...sliding down each of his arms a thousand & one times. They also enjoyed the pirate ship & floating around the lazy river. The kids are now Schlitterbahn fans & we can't wait to try out the Galveston Schlitterbahn this summer!
On Saturday we took them to Sea World. Now it was both hot & crowded! Thankfully we had already done the water park thing the day before so we were able to skip that area of Sea World. Our main focus were the shows & a ride on the Shamu Express (kiddie roller coaster). We started our morning off with the Shamu show. The kids were excited & to be honest, so was I! I have always wanted to go to Sea World & see Shamu! I must say, it was even more fun seeing it with them. I loved watching their expressions as he jumped out of the water & splashed the crowd!!
We watched a few more shows & then waited to meet the Sesame Street characters. This was fun! I was glad that they were both still excited to meet Elmo & his friends. After that we ventured over to ride Shamu Express. We ended our day at Sea World with 2 large stuffed Shamu's! The kids were tired & sweaty, but happy to have their new friend to take home with them!
Here are some pics of our fun. I don't have the Schlitterbahn pics yet since I used a disposable, water-proof camera! They are coming soon...
