School's Out For Summer...

Every last day of school we sing this one part of Alice Cooper's song. It's become a fun tradition! I seriously can't believe school is already out for this year! It NEVER went by this quickly when I was a kid!! :)

This year was a trying year for us! Grace started the year off at a new school, with a new teacher & new friends! At first it seemed we would never get through that first month! Then Grace got in the groove of things & settled in. It was such a blessing when she did! I felt like I could breathe again. I hated dropping her off every morning not knowing whether she was going to get out of the car crying or not. It was ever so painful! However, we made it! She soon made friends & began to get back to her self confident ways!!

She grew leaps & bounds this year & did very well! Two of the major things she accomplished were getting Honorable Mention on her first Science Fair Project & being selected for Character Counts the 4th sixth weeks of school. They select 2 students per classroom, per grade based on their social interactions in the classroom, at music, PE, and library.

Whew, I am proud to say we made it through 1st grade! It is definitely bittersweet! On one hand I am sad that we are already finished with 1st grade & on the other hand I am so thankful we made it through this year! I know with Grace there are bigger & better things to come!!
