Luke is 100% all boy! The Saturday before the Super Bowl Luke & Grace were playing in the playroom. They decided to run into the living room & unfortunately, Luke caught Grace's foot & tripped. This sent him nose first into the back of the couch. Now, the back of our couch has a wooden board that the fabric is attached to & his little nose hit the edge straight on. Man, oh man, did he cry!! Darren & I were only a few feet away when it all happened & we heard the sound of him hitting the wood. We knew we were in trouble. Darren grabbed him up then quickly passed him on to me. There was a little scratch on the corner of his nose so that was the only blood. However, there was a line across the end of his nose & it ran underneath his eye...this is obviously where he hit the edge of that board. He settled down a bit, but it soon started swelling & his little nose was now crooked. Then we went to move him he started screaming in pain. We were nervous that it was broken so we got stuff together & headed to the ER. He perked up a bit once we got there, but the swelling grew. They did a CT Scan to check for any broken bones. He was not a fan of this at all. Darren went with him & I stayed in the room with Grace. I could hear him crying from the next hall over! The doctor came back & said nothing was broken but it did show sinus disease & fluid in his ears. We were quite thankful that nothing was broken & we were prepared for it to swell & bruise. By Sunday afternoon the real swelling & bruising began. He woke up from his afternoon nap & he looked like a character from the movie Avatar! It was so puffy & swollen and all shades of purple. Poor little guy!! Over the next few days the swelling stayed around & the colors went from purple to blue. Now, almost a week & a half later, the swelling has almost completely gone away (except for a little on the bridge of his nose) & it is still yellowish/green. I was able to snap a few pics of him during all of this, however, he quickly grew tired of that. He would finally tell me, "No more pictures of my nose, Mommy!".
The first two pics are from Monday afternoon...

These two pics are from Tuesday...

On a side note: I took him the very next Monday to his ENT in Greenwood, MS to have his last checkup for the tube process (the last tube fell out in January). He looked at his ears & said that he definitely had fluid. He has had fluid for 3 weeks now. I told him what the CT Scan showed & he suggested getting his adenoids out if it showed signs of sinus disease & since he still was battling ear infections. So, Mr. Luke will be having his adenoids out on March 2.
