Texas
I am a wife. I am an anti-mini van, carpooling in a slug bug mom. I am a lover of God. I am a dreamer of God-Sized Dreams. I am a little on the OCD side...okay, maybe a lot on the OCD side. I am a rule follower with a little rebel nature. I am a reality tv show lover. I am a kid at heart. I am an extrovert. I am a friend. I am me. I am just a girl, trying to make the most of the life God has called her to live.

We're moving!!

Last Wednesday we were able to make it official...we are moving back to Texas! Darren accepted the General Manager's position at KBTV (Fox affiliate) in Beaumont, TX. What's interesting about this is that Darren started his television career at KBTV...so it's like going home for him! Very cool!! It has been a whirlwind these last few weeks as he went through the interview process (all interviews were right in between my doctor's appointments & waiting on the results).

Five years ago when we were looking at moving to Greenville, we really felt God's hand throughout the entire situation. Today, almost 5 years to the date later, we feel God's hand in it again! It is amazing just how specifically He has answered some of our prayers! It is an exciting time yet a bittersweet time for us. We are Texans through & through (if you've spent any amount of time with us you know that...typical of any Texan really!), but Greenville, MS has been home to us for the last 5 years. We became a family here. Grace was almost 8 months old when we moved. We had Luke here in the Delta. Darren & I grew together as a married couple...being far from family does that to you...there is no one really for you to rely on so you learn to turn to each other. We experienced many firsts as a family & created many, many memories here. We have also formed many friendships here. There have been some people that have entered our lives and have become like family...those friendships will continue no matter the distant between us! We have also learned many things about God throughout our time here. We are thankful for all that we have learned & experienced and we will look back on this time with fondness. We have had the desire to move back closer to family for a while now. Having small children does that to you...it breaks our hearts hearing our kids cry for their grandparents when they leave! Right now we are 10 hours from my family & 9 from Darren's. Living in Beaumont will put us 3 1/2 hours from mine & 2 1/2 from Darren's (close, yet still far enough away!)!!

We are now busy little bees. The house is on the market & we are doing all the little things to make it appealing to the future buyer. Lot's of changes coming our way, but we are ready. We will miss many people & many things about the Delta, but we can honestly say (remember, we ARE your typical Texans) that we are ready to get back to the Promise Land!!

  1. God really does know the desires of our heart. And he gives them in his time and until then, he's only preparing us for when that time comes.
